What changes
The tools know your class
Name picker, groups, spinner and scoreboard all read your real roster. Nobody retypes anything, and a student who joins mid-term appears everywhere at once.
Points can count for something
Scoreboard points vanish when the bell goes. In the gradebook they can become XP that levels a student up across the whole term — or not, if you would rather keep the game separate.
The tools stay free either way
Everything on this site stays free, with no account, forever. An account adds the roster; it does not take anything away.
Do I have to use the gradebook?
No. Plenty of teachers make an account for the roster alone and never open the markbook. It is there when you want it — weighted marks, attendance, seating, report card comments — and quiet when you do not.
